Long a poster child of environmental ills and health concerns, McDonald’s has worked steadily over the last two decades to clean up its act. The company will never win over vegetarians, who eschew meat for health, animal welfare and even world hunger concerns (we’d feed more people by using the land used to grow animal feed to grow food for people instead), but it has otherwise made some significant strides.

The Bath Community Senior Center has had a busy couple of months. Director, Joyce Ryder, began on November 5th and has gone non-stop, learning about the senior members and learning about the inner workings of VPAS . In addition, every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday has been jam packed with lots of goings on.

Bill Bolling issued a comprehensive letter to legislative leaders outlining his support for moving forward with the proposed expansion of Virginia’s Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act, subject to the ability of the Commonwealth to negotiate acceptable waivers from the federal government to effectively reform Medicaid.
