The Waynesboro Country Club is in “dire financial straits,” according to a group leading a last-ditch fundraising effort to keep the club afloat. The Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Nelson County woman after a traffic stop last night netted cash and methamphetamine. Constance Arlene Layman, 33 years old, of Wingina, faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

The Waynesboro Arts and Culture Initiative in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County is excited to announce the launch of BOOST Literacy, a $5,000 accelerated literacy pilot initiative targeted at improving the basic literacy skills of some of our community’s most at-risk kindergarten through third grade public school students.

Friday Night Basketball is back – Halloween style. The Waynesboro YMCA will open this Friday from 9pm to midnight for middle school and high school youth. Doors lock at 10pm.
