Mark Strauss is not only a Holocaust survivor. He is also an artist and author. His presentation at Waynesboro Public Library on Thursday, October 11 will connect these two avocations to his poignant story of survival and hope as a child in Nazi-occupied Poland. The evening’s presentation, in cooperation with the Foundation for Holocaust Education Projects, starts at 6 p.m. with a segment for children and will be followed by one for adults at 7:30 p.m.

An additional $3 million in TV, radio, print and online ad buys will push the total marketing commitment of the Tim Kaine Senate campaign to $7.5 million. The Kaine campaign announced the additional buys Tuesday and attributed the extra money in the budget to substantial growth in its donor base. The campaign has now received donations from more than 40,000 individuals, with more than 10,000 of those donors contributing money to the campaign for the first time in the past six weeks.

The top seven teams remain unchanged in this week’s FCS Coaches poll. U.S. Sen. Mark Warner didn’t rule out a run for governor in 2013 in an interview with NBC12 in Richmond on Friday. Asked by “First at 4” anchor Ryan Nobles to address speculation that he is considering a run for governor next year, Warner conceded that “it’s no news flash that sometimes the Senate frustrates me.”
