From Idea to Market workshop offered

A workshop for area businesses interested in learning more about increasing their customer base through innovation commercialization is being offered 8:30 – 11:30am Thursday May 30 at the Augusta County Government Center in Verona. Those who attend will learn the steps to Innovation Excellence, from encouraging idea generation to taking a product or process innovation to the marketplace.

Classic & Antique Car Show showcases disability driving program

The WWRC Foundation will host a free exhibit of classic and antique cars from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, on the grounds at the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center. The show will feature vehicles with assistive technology for drivers with disabilities as well as more than 35 vintage cars from five local clubs, including Corvair, Corvette, Model A, Mustang, and the Waynesboro-Staunton Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

An international consortium of researchers has created the largest computer model of human metabolism to date, an astonishingly detailed roadmap that points the way to better understanding of cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and a host of other conditions. It’s a powerful new tool that will speed the development of new drugs and treatments and, eventually, may allow doctors to tailor medicine to each patient’s personal biology.
