Part of Route 655 (Sulphur Springs Road) in Frederick County will be reconstructed beginning Monday, March 4. During early stages of the project, contractors will erect signs, install erosion-control fencing and remove trees.

VDOT will close the Route 629 (Deep Creek Road) bridge over Middle Fork Kent Branch in Fluvanna County for approximately seven months for replacement.

A slope failure along Route 220 (Hot Springs Road) in Alleghany County will take at least two weeks to repair. Until the work is complete, a 16-mile stretch of Route 220 through Alleghany and Bath counties will be closed to through traffic.

Part of Route 220 (Hot Springs Road) in Alleghany County is closed due to a slope failure just south of the Bath County line. Route 220 is closed to through traffic between Route 687(Jackson River Road) and Route 615 (Main Street, Hot Springs).

Virginia State Police Trooper C.W. Bare is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash in Page County. The crash occurred Tuesday at 5:25 a.m. on Route 340 at 1 tenth of a mile north of Route 700.
