Covington: Durant Road closure extended to June 28
Share
Durant Road in Covington will remain closed between Willis Avenue and Thacker Avenue through Friday, June 28. For driver safety, this closure has been in place since early March as contractors cut back a steep rock slope along the roadway.
One northbound lane still closed on Rt. 29 north of Airport Road in Albemarle County

One lane on Route 29 northbound remains closed this morning due to a sinkhole that opened in the road on Tuesday morning. The hole was repaired yesterday but the asphalt pavement did not set up correctly and is still too soft to hold vehicles.
Rockingham County: Route 257 closed May 22 for emergency pipe replacement

Part of Route 257 (Briery Branch Road) in Rockingham County is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, May 22, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This closure is for emergency replacement of a drainage pipe between Route 755 (Lambert Town Road) and Route 731 (Daniel Cupp Road) in the Briery Branch area.

CTB approves name change for Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington County

At its May meeting, the Commonwealth Transportation Board took action on the renaming of U.S. Route 1 and Virginia Route 110 within the County of Arlington from “Jefferson Davis Highway” to “Richmond Highway,” as requested by the county.
Virginia State Police investigate crash in Shenandoah County

Virginia State Police Trooper E.M. Meyers is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Shenandoah County. The crash occurred May 15 at 9:20 a.m. on Interstate 81 at the 271.2 mile marker.
