Additional snowfall from a two-day winter storm has coated many roadways Friday morning in the Shenandoah Valley, Alleghany Highlands and Charlottesville region.

Virginia Department of Transportation crews and contractors were busy Thursday night plowing and treating roads.

VDOT has engaged a team of A. Morton Thomas and Associates Inc., supported by partner Brown and Caldwell, to assist in implementing its municipal separate storm sewer system program.

VDOT crews and contractors have been out all day plowing and treating roadways after a snowstorm left 3 to 6 inches in the Central Shenandoah Valley on Sunday.
