After skyrocketing last month, gas prices continue to fall across the country. Gas dropped for the first 14 days in August, easing nearly ten cents per gallon, but the trend could be short-lived. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline dropped to $3.54 per gallon Friday, a four-cent drop in the past week.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced today that Perdue Agribusiness, which owns and operates a major deep-water export terminal for grains and oilseeds in Chesapeake, has reached a new agreement with China’s Jiusan Oil and Grain Industries Group (Jiusan) to supply up to 8 million bushels of soybeans in a series of bulk shipments for the 2013-14 crop.

U.S. Sens. Mark Warner (D-VA), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chris Coons (D-DE) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) today sent a letter to the chairmen of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration, Robert F. The Atlantic Coast Conference Council of Presidents has unanimously voted to accept the University of Notre Dame as a new member. The Irish will compete as full members in all conference sponsored sports with the exception of football which will play five games annually against league programs.
