School divisions in Southwest Virginia, Richmond to benefit from grant to fight childhood hunger

Governor Terry McAuliffe and First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe announced Monday that high-poverty schools in Richmond and seven Southwest Virginia school divisions will participate in a demonstration project to reduce childhood hunger and improve food security among low-income families.

Mark Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) wrote to the head of the U.S. Government Accountability Office to request a formal investigation into the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) process for evaluating the safety of roadside hardware, including guardrails that have been implicated in more than a dozen serious accidents – some fatal – nationwide, including in Virginia.
