Today Governor Terry McAuliffe announced that Virginia has been certified by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs as the first state in the nation to functionally end veteran homelessness.

Bridgewater College has announced that James H. Walsh of Richmond, Va., has been elected chair of the college’s board of trustees, replacing outgoing chair Nathan H. Miller, of Bridgewater, whose term concluded with the 2015 annual meeting on November 6.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced on Friday 14 Virginia Land Conservation Foundation (VLCF) grants totaling $2.25 million. The grants will help add 2,000 acres to Virginia’s conserved lands.

Dominion Virginia Power, a unit of Dominion, today became the first U.S utility to notify the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of its intent to file a second license renewal application for one of its nuclear stations. Surry Power Station would be one of the first nuclear stations in the nation to receive a second license extension if Dominion completes the process and the application is approved.
