Chris Kniesly, a science teacher at Mark Twain Middle School in Fairfax County, has been named Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom 2019 Teacher of the Year.

Rodney A. Robinson, a history teacher at Virgie Binford Education Center in Richmond, is one of four states’ teachers of the year named by the Council of Chief State School Officers as finalists for the 2019 National Teacher of the Year.

Staunton City Schools has honored as its 2018 Teacher of the Year Donte’ Montague, a fourth-grade teacher at A.R. Ware Elementary School.

Del. R. Steven Landes, R-Weyers Cave, Chairman of the House Education Committee, today presented House Joint Resolution 188, commending the 2018 Virginia Teacher of the Year, Michelle Cottrell-Williams.

Jennifer Massengill, a science and technology teacher at Hampton Roads Academy, has been named Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom 2018 Teacher of the Year.

Jessica Pittman, a first grade teacher in Caroline County, has been named Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom 2017 Teacher of the Year.

Applications are being accepted through Nov. 1 for Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom’s Teacher of the Year recognition.

Donna Musick of Washington County has been named Virginia’s Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year.

Time is running out to apply for Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom’s Teacher of the Year recognition; applications are due Dec. 7.
