The third annual Red Wing Roots Music Festival takes place next week, July 10-‐12, at Natural Chimneys Park in Mount Solon.

Over 560 swimmers and their families are coming to Waynesboro this week, bringing both competition and tourism dollars to the community.

Wintergreen Resort celebrates its 40th anniversary throughout 2015 and will host the annual Wintergreen Summer Music Festival – “Cheers! Toast 20 Years of Music in the Mountains” in this 20th anniversary year of Wintergreen Performing Arts.

The Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom will hold a summer series of free professional development workshops for teachers of pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Each will feature agriculture-related classroom activities that meet current educational standards.

The Waynesboro Y year round competitive swim team, SMAC, (Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club) competed in the NBAC Long Course Championships in Baltimore, Maryland June 12th- June 15th. The meet was held at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center, the home pool of Michael Phelps.

Belle Grove Plantation will host its 20th annual “Of Ale and History” Beer Festival on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. with beer tasting beginning at noon.

On Thursday, April 23 and Thursday, May 7, ALDI, the nation’s low-price grocery leader, will offer grocery shoppers a smarter alternative as it opens its first Richmond-area stores. The new stores will be located at 1776 North Parham Road in Richmond, 465 Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights and 841 Shenandoah Village Drive in Waynesboro.
