Last-minute goal-line stand preserves VMI win

The VMI Keydets made a goal-line stand in the game’s final seconds to preserve a dramatic 34-27 victory over the Glenville State Pioneers in non-conference NCAA football action Saturday at VMI’s Foster Stadium. The game served as VMI’s home opener, the Keydets’ eighth win in their past nine first games at home and was the first meeting between the programs.

Here in rural Virginia, we switch between Democrats and Republicans, but they all vote for war … until now. Our recently unseated Congress member, Tom Periello, is rallying humanitarian warriors to bomb nations because we care. His replacement, Robert Hurt, met with a group of constituents on Thursday and indicated that he had “grave, grave concerns” about voting for any attack on Syria.
