He leaves Virginia, and he’s the starting quarterback for eighth-ranked Georgia, he has an NCAA record in the books, and on Saturday, he leads the Bulldogs into Sanford Stadium as favorites against Alabama. Oh, and his girlfriend will be in Sanford Stadium to be crowned Miss Georgia at halftime. It’s pretty good to be Greyson Lambert these days.

The investigation into an apparent murder-suicide reported Wednesday night in Staunton now moves into Augusta County. A joint statement from the Staunton Police Department and Augusta County Sheriff’s Office released Friday confirmed that it has been determined that the shooting death of Jasmine C. Hayslett, 19, occurred in the 2300 block of Stuarts Draft Highway in Augusta County.

The City of Staunton is preparing for the potential effects of Hurricane Joaquin, now a Category 4 storm. The region is under a flash flood watch from Friday morning to Saturday evening, and two to three inches of rain are expected with higher amounts possible in some areas.
