Soil and rock testing requires overnight lane and ramp closures around the interchange of Interstate 81 and Route 33 (East Market Street) at exit 247 in Harrisonburg.

Motorists can expect nightly closures of the off-ramp from northbound Interstate 81 to Route 11 (Valley Pike) at exit 257 in Rockingham County.

Brief on- and off-ramp closures are scheduled for the night of Thursday, Sept. 5, at three interchanges along Interstate 81 in Shenandoah and Frederick counties.

The on-ramp from Route 627 (Reliance Road) onto northbound Interstate 81 at exit 302 (Middletown) in Frederick County is scheduled to be closed for up to two nights – Wednesday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 22.

Motorists using northbound Interstate 81 in Frederick County should be alert for alternating lane closures during overnight hours beginning July 29.

A nearly two-year construction project will bring improvements to the Interstate 81 exit 257 interchange at Route 11 (Valley Pike) and Route 259 (Mayland Road) in Rockingham County.

Paving operations require overnight ramp closures tonight (Wednesday, July 24) along Interstate 81 southbound at two interchanges Shenandoah County. The closures are scheduled for 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
