Light snow began falling in some areas of the Shenandoah Valley region in late Thursday afternoon and continues into the night. VDOT crews and contractors are plowing and treating roadways tonight. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when traveling and to expect ice or snow patches on some roads.

Road conditions are steadily improving in the Shenandoah Valley and Alleghany Highlands. Interstates and most primary roads are clear as of mid-day Monday.

Road conditions in the Shenandoah Valley and Alleghany Highlands are steadily improving as of mid-day Monday. The region received up to 18 inches of snow, with the highest totals in Alleghany, Rockbridge, Bath and Augusta counties.

Snow is tapering off in central and southern portions of the Shenandoah Valley leaving many roads snow covered. Travel is not advised in the area.
