The ramp from northbound Interstate 81 to westbound Route 60 at Exit 188B in Rockbridge County is scheduled for daytime closures on Thursday.

Bridge deck work will be performed on the Route 644 (Papermill Road) bridge over Interstate 81, which will include single lane closures. This location is near the Winchester City and Frederick County line.

Milling and paving operations on northbound Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County requires alternating lane closures and an off-ramp closure beginning August 6.

VDOT continues to study the entire length of the Interstate 81 corridor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in accordance with Senate Bill 971.

VDOT is making upgrades at three Interstate 81 interchanges in Augusta County near Staunton. This project includes extensions of seven ramp acceleration and deceleration lanes at I-81 exits 220, 221 and 222.

VDOT and the Commonwealth Transportation Board will hold a public hearing concerning adding a line item in the 2019-2024 Six Year Improvement Plan for proposed replacement of the Route 17/50/522 (Millwood Pike) bridge over Interstate 81 in Frederick County.
