Milling and paving operations on northbound Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County requires alternating lane closures and an off-ramp closure beginning August 6. The work will take place from mile marker 263.9 to 265 in the New Market area.
Paving of the northbound I-81 off-ramp at exit 264 (New Market/Timberville/Luray) is scheduled from 10 p.m. Monday, August 6, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 7. Northbound I-81 motorists will be detoured at exit 257 (Mauzy/Broadway), where they can follow Route 11 north to New Market.
Paving on the northbound I-81 travel lanes will continue through August 15. Drivers can expect alternating lane closures nightly from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
