
Stretch of Interstate 64 in Rockbridge County closing today for emergency repairs

VDOT will be patching potholes on Interstate 64 in both directions from mile marker 99 on Afton Mountain to mile marker 143 in Louisa County.

The emergency roadwork is complete and all lanes on Interstate 64 between Interstate 81 and the West Virginia line are now open.

On Sunday, eastbound and westbound Interstate 64 will be closed from 6 a.m.to 5 p.m. for pavement repairs between exit 50 (Lexington/Kerrs Creek) and exit 55 (Lexington) in Rockbridge County

The Virginia Department of Transportation will be painting the center lines on Interstate 64 west from mile marker 145 in Louisa County to mile marker 124 in Albemarle County on Thursday.

Virginia State Police were on scene of a fatal crash at 7 a.m. Friday on Interstate 64 eastbound at the 159.9 mile-marker in Louisa County.

Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 20, the Virginia Department of Transportation will be painting the center lines on Interstate 64 west from mile marker 145 in Louisa County to mile marker 126 in Albemarle County.

Overnight lane and off-ramp closures are scheduled for next week at the Interstate 64 interchange at exit 91 (Route 285/Fishersville) in Augusta County. These closures are for milling and paving of the westbound off-ramp. All work is weather permitting.
