The Bowie Baysox (36-38) blanked the Richmond Flying Squirrels (38-38), 1-0, in game one of a doubleheader on Tuesday night at The Diamond. However, the Richmond bats awoke in the second game, and the Squirrels scored a, 7-6, win to split the twin-bill. With the split, the Squirrels will have the chance to win the four-game series on Wednesday afternoon.

Benjamin Reynolds, Callands, Va., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 1 ounce Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division event on Smith Mountain Lake. For his victory, Reynolds earned $4,315 plus $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus.

The Lynchburg Hillcats scored four runs in the first and four in the sixth to take Sunday’s rubber match, 9-4, over the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Matt Lipka led off the Hillcats offensive ballgame with a home run and David Rohm had three hits, falling a home run shy of the cycle, in the win. Jarett Miller picked up his third win in as many starts since joining the rotation.

The Bowie Baysox salvaged the finale of a three-game series, defeating the Richmond Flying Squirrels (13-14), 7-2, on Thursday afternoon at Prince George’s Stadium. The Squirrels took two-of-three from Bowie, and finish their road trip with a record of 3-3.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels (13-13) used a seven-run sixth inning to blow past the Bowie Baysox and claim an 11-6 win at Prince George’s Stadium on Wednesday night. The seventh inning marked the most prolific offensive inning of the season for the Squirrels and netted them their third straight win and first road series victory of the season.

Ron Nelson of Berrien Springs, Mich., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds even Saturday to win the EverStart Series Northern Division event on Smith Mountain Lake with a three-day total of 15 bass weighing 48 pounds, 15 ounces. For his victory, Nelson earned $32,555.
