
Bridgewater College breaks ground on learning commons
The multi-million dollar transformation of Bridgewater College’s Alexander Mack Memorial Library into a state-of-the-art learning commons was celebrated May 4, with a groundbreaking ceremony.

The multi-million dollar transformation of Bridgewater College’s Alexander Mack Memorial Library into a state-of-the-art learning commons was celebrated May 4, with a groundbreaking ceremony.

Approximately 398 Bridgewater College seniors received degrees on May 5, in a ceremony on the campus mall. The degrees were conferred by Dr. David W. Bushman, president of Bridgewater College.

Bridgewater College has received a $750 Walmart Foundation Community Grant that will help fund the college’s sustainability efforts. The Walmart Foundation awards funds through its local, national and international giving programs to support community-based projects and programs.

Kirsten Lambert and Philip Meador were presented the Outstanding Senior Award from the department of communication studies and Angela Tolomei received the Outstanding Theatre Artist Award at Bridgewater College during the college awards ceremony on April 22.

The Bridgewater College Alumni Association recognized a number of students in the campus community at the annual college awards ceremony on April 22.

Laura Toni-Holsinger, executive director of United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County since January 2014, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Bridgewater College is recognizing academic achievement during a period of activities dedicated to showcasing excellence. ASPIRE (A Celebration of the Arts, Scholarship, Performance, Innovation and Research Excellence), will be held April 14-24.
