Akin Alabi is a man that will venture into territory that angels dread to thread on and come out to claim, I went, I saw, and I conquered. It is only this sort of derring-do that made him pioneer online gambling in Nigeria and run for elections as a federal lawmaker. He has also gone ahead to chronicle some of his success principles in a bestselling book on business, “Small Business, Big Money”. Born 42 years ago to the Adediran Alabi family of Ibadan on 31st March 1977, Akin has gone on to achieve fame and wealth early. His education took in stints at Command Children School, Ibadan, Federal Government College, Enugu, and The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration. Further forays in pursuit of education took him to the University of Liverpool, England, where he bagged an M.Sc in Marketing.

Akin Alabi is a goal-getter, a fact which becomes pretty obvious considering his dogged determination to succeed in life. His first stint in business came around 2003 with the publishing of manuals and books on business and sales of the same. He later set up a training and consultancy firm for budding entrepreneurs and helping start-ups grow. Next, he veered into publishing, pushing out two titles, “Income”, a news outlet outlining business opportunities and legal structures for investors, and “World Soccer News”, a weekly football newspaper. Akin’s big break came when he went to the UK and observed the online sports betting operations there. This was prompt to set up Nairabet, Nigeria’s first online sports betting company in 2009. Nairabet is a multimillion-dollar business built from scratch from the ingenuity and drive of its founder. Akin’s pioneering work is responsible for the hugely commercially successful online sports betting industry in Nigeria.

Nairabet

Akin Alabi set up Nairabet in 2009 and it has proved to be his most successful business venture to date. In setting up Nairabet, Akin was venturing into previously uncharted territory in a challenging business environment. He has however gone on to achieve spectacular commercial success and can rightly claim to be the father of online sports betting in Nigeria. Nairabet is Nigeria’s first sportsbook offering sports lovers in the country the opportunity to stake on sports in the local currency. With its headquarters in Igbo Efon, Lekki (Lagos), the platform has a network of agents helping it penetrate every nook and cranny of the country. The website of the platform is available both on desktops and in the mobile version for handheld devices.

The platform staying true to its pioneer status is a trailblazer in the online sports betting industry in Nigeria. Even though the many new Nigerian betting sites in 2020, Nairabet offers the best betting services available on the land. The platform boasts a wide array of sports, vast markets, great odds, and excellent customer service. Some of the other stellar offerings on the platform include its fast-paced and intuitive in-play section, virtual sports and casino. The jackpot offering and promotions on the platform are exciting and I dare say, irresistible. Making payments on the platform is also a stress-free endeavor. Subscribers can make deposits and initiate withdrawals through the plethora of payment channels available on the platform.

Akin, the quintessential man

Akin Alabi is a man of many parts, an entrepreneur, a writer, an investor, a philanthropist, a federal lawmaker, and an accomplished family man. Success seems to be a constant companion of this remarkable man as he has excelled at almost every aspect of his life highlighted above. His philanthropic work through his Akin Alabi Foundation is also remarkable for the impact it is making in society. He is also a big presence on the Nigerian social media space with a large following on Twitter and Instagram. The engagements on his page are interesting as the Oloye makes his views on trending national and international news known. We should also not forget that he holds a certificate in Intellectual Property Strategy from the prestigious Harvard University, Boston(USA). Akin Alabi is someone to keep an eye on as he charts new courses and proceeds to make a success out of them going forward.
