Virginia, fresh off a win at then-#5 Notre Dame, never got going on Saturday at Klöckner Stadium, falling behind big early in a 16-8 loss to #2 Stanford.

The ‘Hoos (2-4, 1-1 ACC) trailed 10-3 at halftime, and made a brief run, getting back-to-back goals from Addi Foster and Kate Galica to get the margin down to five.

Stanford (6-0, 3-0 ACC) got the lead back to 14-6 at the end of three, and was never seriously threatened.

Foster and Kady Flaherty scored two goals apiece to lead the Cavaliers.

Galica won 11 draw controls, helping the Cavaliers to a 17-10 advantage in the circle.
