Women’s Basketball: Virginia defeats Green Bay, 66-61, in Puerto Rico opener

Virginia won its opener in the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout with a 66-61 win over Green Bay on Thursday at Coliseo Guillermo Angulo.

UVA (6-1) has now won five straight since a 95-51 blowout loss at Oklahoma on Nov. 8.

Kymora Johnson led the Cavaliers with 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds from the point guard spot.

Yonta Vaughn had 12 points and four assists, and Breona Hurd had 10 points and seven rebounds.

The ‘Hoos next play Washington State (3-3) in Puerto Rico, with a scheduled 4 p.m. ET Friday tip.
