UVA Women’s Basketball coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton announced Wednesday that she has promoted CJ Jones to the position of associate head coach.

Jones has been at UVA with Agugua-Hamilton since she took the job in 2022, under the title of assistant coach/recruiting director.

Jones, a Francis Marion alum, was also on Agugua-Hamilton’s staff at Missouri State for three seasons.

“I am honored and humbled by this opportunity that Coach Mox has afforded to me and my family,” Jones said. “Coach Mox is a special person, coach, mother, and wife, and I am thankful to continue serving and growing with this program. My family and I love Charlottesville and The University of Virginia! We are excited to continue build with Coach Mox, the staff, players, and UVA Family.”
