Winter Weather Advisory in Shenandoah Valley: Ice, 1-3 inches of snow in forecast

snow-plow-headerThe National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Augusta, Rockingham, Nelson and Albemarle for Friday into the morning hours of Saturday.

The forecast calls for ice and snow with snow accumulations of 1-3 inches possible.

The advisory is in effect beginning at 2 p.m. Friday running through 10 a.m. Saturday

Temperatures are expected to remain in the lower 30s for the duration of the advisory time frame.

The forecast high for Saturday is in the low 40s in the advisory area, with highs on Sunday expected to reach into the mid 40s.
