State Police: Winchester man dead after high-speed collision with BMW

A Winchester man is dead following an accident Friday night in Clarke County.

Noah A. Montanaro, 23, of Winchester, died at the scene.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred Friday at 7:17 p.m. on Blue Ridge Mountain Road.

A 2022 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it failed to maneuver a curve, crossed a double solid yellow center line and collided head on with a southbound 2013 BMW sedan. The operator of the Yamaha, Montanaro, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the BMW, a 40-year-old male from Stephens City, was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
