White-out, sorta, kinda, for UVA vs. Pitt on Saturday

UVA defensive end Eli Harold said last week that he wanted to see a white-out for Saturday’s key ACC clash with Pitt in Scott Stadium. Harold is getting his wish, sorta, kinda.

The athletics department announced Thursday that the Cavs will break tradition with an all-white look for the home game – white jerseys and white pants – along with the unveiling of a new helmet that will feature the V sabre logo over a graphite-and-black pattern.

The look will be completed with pink wristbands, socks and gloves in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The white jerseys and pants look required the cooperation of Pitt, which had already agreed last month to wear dark jerseys to accommodate UVA’s plans.

Harold told jeff white at VirginiaSports.com that the package is “basically a dream come true.”

“We’ve never really had the opportunity to do something like this, and we’ve always been wanting to, so we finally get the chance,” Harold said.
