Welcome home event for Final Four-bound UVA Basketball team at 3 p.m. Sunday

uva basketballThe Virginia athletics department will hold a “Welcome Home” event for the UVA men’s basketball team today (Sunday, March 31) at 3 p.m. at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park.

Gates will open at 2 p.m. and UVA’s Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for fans attending the game.

Parking is free at the McCue Center, University Hall and Emmet Ivy Garage parking lots.

Due to the UVA men’s lacrosse match vs. Utah that starts at 1 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium, fans should enter Davenport Field using the right field gate entrance to the stadium.

John Paul Jones Arena is not available for the Welcome Home event due to the Charlottesville Home Show that is being held in the facility this weekend.

Saturday the Cavaliers defeated Purdue 80-75 in overtime in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the Final Four for the first time since 1984. The Final Four will take place in Minneapolis, Minn., with semifinal games on Saturday, April 6 and the national championship game on Monday, April 8.
