Virginia Organizing is hosting a town hall-like event with 36th District Del. Ellen McLaughlin at the Waynesboro Public Library on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m.

Good for folks on the two sides here – Virginia Organizing is left-leaning; McLaughlin is a Republican legislator – to come together to do this.

I will say, I would expect some back-and-forth on McLaughlin’s votes in the House of Delegates this week on the minimum wage and paid leave.

She voted against increasing the minimum wage, and against the paid leave.

McLaughlin tries to present herself as Republican-lite, but she might need to explain her thinking on her votes and how that fits into not just doing what the MAGAs in Richmond are doing.

Both bills passed the House on party-line votes, which means, for McLaughlin, she sided with the MAGAs, against the interests of her constituents.

Virginia Organizing is asking that those who wish to attend the event at the library to RSVP, because of limited space in the meeting room.

Accommodations such as childcare, transportation and Spanish/Pashto interpretation available upon request.

The fill-up cost for the average Augusta County guy with a big pickup truck, and we’ve got more than our fair share of those, has gone up $37.29 since the start of Donald Trump’s war in Iran five weeks ago.
