Waynesboro shooting: One injured, school placed on lockdown, suspects flee

One person was injured in a shooting incident in Waynesboro Thursday morning, in which several cars were shot and a nearby school was placed on temporary lockdown.

Waynesboro Police responded to the shooting in the 200 block of Tiffany Drive at approximately 10:45 a.m.

Responding officers discovered several vehicles had been shot, and that the suspects had fled the area.

One gunshot victim with non-life-threatening injuries was located at Windigrove Drive and was transported to UVA Medical Center.

Westwood Hills Elementary School was placed on a limited lockdown due to the proximity of the incident.

This incident is currently under investigation.
