Tuesday, October 2, 7:00 p.m. – Taking the Edge out of Education. Help for parents with kids in public, private, or home school. Ellen Werther, M.Ed, educational consultant and owner of No Tears Tutoring, helps parents overcome poor study habits, put homework battles to rest, and more.

Tuesday, October 4, 10:00 a.m. – Scrabble Club. Meet your friends and make new ones while you relax and play a game. For ages 13 and up but all skill levels are welcome. More seasoned players should bring their own board.

Tuesday, October 9, 12:00 p.m. – Music at the Library featuring a little bit of everything by Blue O’Connell. Free pizza and soda provided.

Tuesday, October 9, 6:00 p.m. – Word Warriors: The Un-Book Club. For lovers of all types of literary art. We’ll create art with words, read a best seller, share poetry and play word games. Ages 13+. In conjunction with the Evening of Tolerance, everyone is invited to discuss The Book Thief by Markus Zusak at the October meeting.

Thursday, October 11, 6:00 p.m. for children and 7:30 p.m. for adults – Evening of Tolerance. Holocaust survivor Mark Strauss recounts his experiences as a child in Nazi occupied Poland. The children’s portion includes a reading of Dr. Seuss’ The Sneetches and an art activity. He will share his story with adults through a presentation of his artwork.

Friday, October 12, 6:30 p.m. – Friday Night at the Movies. Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film.

Tuesday, October 16, 6:00 p.m. – Call of Duty MW3 Tournament. Are you ready to save the free world? Ages 13-19 only. Registration with parental consent is required for ages 16 and under. Space is limited. Grand prize: $50 Game Stop gift card.

Wednesday, October 17, 12:30 p.m. – Brown Bag Book Club. Fascinating and far ranging discussion with other book lovers. The book is provided, participants vote on selections, and a staff member leads the discussion. Call the library for this month’s selection.

Friday, October 19, 7:00 p.m. – Speakeasy Lounge. Karaoke singers, musicians, and spoken word artists, and their connoisseurs are invited to express themselves. Sign up to perform. Light refreshments provided. For adults and teens ages 15+

Tuesday, October 30, 6:00 p.m. – Pajama Night. Come in your jammies for some bedtime fun – a story, crafts, games and more. For preschoolers or early elementary.

9:30-11:30 a.m. Chat-N-Play provides interactive play for your little one and conversation for you. Open to children ages 0-3 and their caregivers.

 

Wednesday

9:30 a.m.  Mother Goose Time is an interactive program featuring songs, finger-plays, books, movements, and nursery rhymes for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.

10:30 a.m.  Story Time features books, stories, songs, puppets, flannel board activities, and crafts for children ages two through five accompanied by an adult.

 

Thursday

9:30 a.m.  Mamá Ganso, mother Goose in Spanish, features stories, songs, finger-plays, and movements for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.
