WPL will be closed December 25 and will close at 5 pm on December 24 and December 31.

Tuesday, December 2, 5:00 pm – Craft Club. Bring your own project or try the project on the handout available at the circulation desk. Basic tools (scissors, tape, glue, etc.) are provided. Bring other supplies needed.

Tuesday, December 2, 6:30 pm – Pajama Night. Come in your jammies for a story and snack suitable for children in preschool or early elementary.

Thursday, December 4, 6:30 pm – B.Y.O. We’ll show you how to make unique door wreaths with deco-mesh that will get everyone in the holiday spirit. See the front desk for a complete supply list. Registration is required; ages 13+, please.

Friday, December 5, 9:30-11:30 am – Chat-N-Play provides interactive play for your little one and conversation for you. Open to children ages 0-3 and their caregivers.

Tuesday, December 9, 7:00 pm – Book Talk. Chaz Weaver discusses his book, The Valley Baseball League: A History of Baseball in the Shenandoah Valley.

Thursday, December 11, 6:30 pm – B.Y.O. Christmas. Make gift wrapper candy bars for friends and family. Bring two Hershey candy bars and we will show you how. Registration required. Under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday, December 12, 6:30 pm – Friday Night at the Movies. Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film.

Tuesday, December 15, 6:30 pm – Pajama Night. Come in your jammies for a story and snack suitable for children in preschool or early elementary.

Wednesday, December 17, 7:00 pm – Wednesday Night Book Club. Fascinating and far ranging discussion with other book lovers. The book is provided, participants vote on selections, and a staff member leads the discussion. This month’s selection is a travel book of your choice.

Thursday, December 18, 6:30 pm – Christmas Concert. Singer and songwriter John Tracy treats you to the sounds of the season.

Friday, December 19, 9:30-11:30 am – Chat-N-Play provides interactive play for your little one and conversation for you. Open to children ages 0-3 and their caregivers.

Monday, December 22, 1:00 pm – Holiday Camp Movie for families. Title TBA.

 

Weekly

Happy Tales – Furry friends are ready to listen to you read during Pajama Night, Thursday afternoon story time, or on Saturday afternoons from 1-2 pm. Please make an appointment.

 

Monday

10:30 am – Swing and Sway. This music and movement class is just the thing you need to get started in the morning. No stories, just song and dance. Ages 0-6.

4:00 pm – WPL Knitters. Bring your materials and socialize with other knitters.

 

Wednesday

9:30 am –  Mother Goose Time is an interactive program featuring songs, finger-plays, books, movements, and nursery rhymes for children from birth through age two and their caregivers.

10:30 am – Story Time features books, stories, songs, puppets, flannel board activities, and crafts for children ages two through five accompanied by an adult.

10:00 amComputer classes are offered Thursday of every week. Classes rotate between Computer Basics, Basic Internet Skills, Introduction to Microsoft Word and Introduction to Microsoft Excel.  Call (540) 942-6746 to register.
