Waynesboro Public Library: April 2014 schedule

The Book Challenge – Adults, start reading four books a month be eligible for monthly prize drawings. Program continues through May.

Thursday, April 10, 3:00-6:00 pm – Job Skills Fair. Participate in workshops to help hone your job finding skills and interview with businesses on site. In partnership with the Waynesboro Rotary Club and Office on Youth.

Friday, April 11, 6:30 p.m. – Friday Night Movie Showing new releases on the big screen. Free popcorn and drinks. Check at the library for the featured film.

Saturday, April 12, 12:00 pm – How Does Your Garden Grow? WPL, in association with Waynesboro Landscape and Garden Center, invites your pint-sized gardener to a fun filled program about how things grow!  Meet us at their Main Street location for story time and a tour. You’ll even plant your own little seedlings to care for at home!  There will be great activities for the grown-ups, too.  Registration required beginning March 1st.

Wednesday, April 16, 7:00 p.m. – Wednesday Night Book Club. Fascinating and far ranging discussion with other book lovers. The book is provided, participants vote on selections, and a staff member leads the discussion. This month’s selection is The Burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout.

Thursday, April 17, 12:00 pm – Spring Break Blanket Blockbuster Enjoy a family friendly movie with free popcorn and a drink. Bring your blanket and sit picnic style.

Saturday, April 19, 6:00 pm – Easter Egg Hunt. Join us for a romp through the stacks to find Easter goodies.  Walkers to age 10.  Registration required beginning April 1st.  Ask at the front desk for details.

Monday, April 21, 4-5:15 pm  – Poetry Workshop for children and young adultsAuthor Maurice McFadden will be at WPL for a workshop. He will read from his book Strength Like Yours and help us find our own voices to create our own poetry.  Light refreshments served.

Monday, April 28, 4-5:15 pm –  Poetry Slam. Author Maurice McFadden returns for a poetry slam on so that children and young adults can showcase their work.  Please register at the front desk.
