The 2019 Men Who Cook Competition, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 6-9 p.m. at Best Western Plus Conference Center in Waynesboro.

The competition features a friendly culinary rivalry between ‘regular guys’ who lead the community in city, commerce, charity, and church categories. At the event, attendees savor samples in salad/appetizer, side dish, entrée, and dessert categories prepared by the local leading men and vote on which dishes delight their palate the most.

Each competitor will serve their best recipe in hopes of winning the “favorite” votes in their respective food category as well as the esteemed title of 2019 Master Chef.

Competitors include Waynesboro leaders Mayor Terry Short; Mike Hamp, City Manager; Sheriff Joe Harris; Rick Wheeler, School Board Chairman; and Dr. Jeff Cassell, Schools Superintendent; among others.

The event is open to the public and is an annual fundraiser for Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry (WARM). The competition typically raises more than 15 percent of the annual operating costs for Ruth’s WARM House, Waynesboro’s only transitional housing for women and children experiencing homelessness.

The 2019 Men Who Cook is presented by local Edwards Jones Financial Advisors’ Art Schlappi and Josh Deaver. Individual tickets are $50/each and all proceeds benefit local homeless services.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.warmwaynesboro.org or by contacting Michelle Mullins at 540-324-8166. ####
