Waynesboro: Man stabs woman after traffic dispute on West Broad Street escalates

A man is in custody following a road-rage incident on West Broad Street in Waynesboro that resulted in a 37-year-old woman being stabbed.

John Rodgers, 59, of Waynesboro, is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail. According to police, he was taken into custody and charged with felony aggravated malicious wounding.

The incident took place one week ago, on Dec. 10, at approximately 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Broad Street.

The Augusta County woman was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The traffic dispute escalated into a physical altercation, and Rodgers allegedly used a long-bladed weapon to stab the female, according to the Waynesboro Police Department.
