waynesboroWaynesboro City Council voted Monday to approve a resolution authorizing a city financial stake in a satellite campus of the Virginia Museum of Natural History.

The resolution backs a package of economic incentives totaling $1 million to go toward the $7.5 million project.

The site for the new museum would be on city-owned property near Constitution Park in Downtown Waynesboro.

The city money is contingent on funding from the state and from private sources.
