Waynesboro: 96-year-old artist Saul Kaplan introducing new exhibit

saul kaplan event flyer Saul Kaplan, still young at the age of 96, continues to crank out art, as he has been since starting at fine arts school way back in 1948.

An exhibit and sale of Kaplan’s work will be on display at the Russell Museum, 518 W. Main St., Downtown Waynesboro, this coming Saturday, Aug. 23.

The free opening reception will run from 4-8 p.m.

Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

Born in Brooklyn in 1929, Kaplan’s introduction to professional art making began in 1948 at the prestigious Han Hofmann School of Fine Arts.

Kaplan’s signature style includes single or multi-planed faces defined by strong lines, cross-hatching and rhythmic curves.
