redskins_scriptrThe Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster moves:

The Redskins activated the following player from the team’s Reserve/Injured list (designated for return):

  • NT Barry Cofield, Jr.

The Redskins waived the following player:

  • LB Jackson Jeffcoat

Cofield, Jr. (6-4, 303) returns after having previously started all 49 regular season games and one postseason game in which he has played since joining the Redskins as an unrestricted free agent on July 29, 2011. The ninth-year NFL veteran has recorded 94 tackles (48 solo), 8.0 sacks, 15 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumbles recovered as a member of the Redskins.

Jeffcoat (6-3, 253) signed to the Redskins’ practice squad on Sept. 2, 2014 and was activated to the 53-man roster on Oct. 7. He appeared in one game, making his NFL debut in a Week 7 win vs. Tennessee.
