A 50-year-old Middletown man is dead after an ATV accident on Thursday in Warren County.

The crash occurred at 1:25 a.m. on the 3600 block of Reliance Road.

Dannel B. Bolt suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital where he later died.

According to Virginia State Police, Bolt was operating a Kawasaki side-by-side on private property and attempted to drive up an embankment and overturned.

Alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.

A passenger in the Kawasaki, a 29-year-old male, suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment on scene. His name was not released.

The side-by-side was not equipped with seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
