Wanted: Lynchburg Police conduct warrant round-up, apprehend seven suspects

Lynchburg Police apprehended seven individuals in a warrant round-up in an effort to address violence in the city.

The operation led to temporary disruptions throughout the city including road closures. A K9 unit also aided police officers.

Six individuals were apprehended on Feb. 27. An additional wanted individual was apprehended today.

The effort was a collaboration between the Lynchburg Police Department, the Virginia State Police and the Central Virginia Drug and Gang Task Force.

Apprehended by Lynchburg Police

Kevon Wilson, 30, of Lynchburg

  • Attempted breaking and entering
  • Destruction of property

Christopher Smith, 43, of Lynchburg

Apprehended with the assistance of a K9 unit

  • Domestic assault and battery
  • Strangulation
  • Animal cruelty
  • Protective orders violations

Felicia Floyd, 31, of Lynchburg

  • Probation violation

Antonio Charlton, 53, of Lynchburg

  • Bond revocation for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance

Julian Venable, 53, of Lynchburg

  • Possession with intent to distribute schedule I/II controlled substance

Devon Bailey, 20, of Lynchburg

  • Strangulation
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Probation violation (possession of a firearm by a felon)

Marcus Hamlett, 38, of Lynchburg

Taken into custody on March 3

  • Assault on a family member
  • Threat in writing
  • Possession of ammo by convicted felon
  • Breaking and entering occupied residence
  • Breaking and entering dwelling
  • Assault on family member (third offense)
  • Possession of Schedule I/II drugs
  • Prevent/delay communications sent through wireless device
  • Property damage
