The UVA Volleyball team earned an invite to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship, and the program will host first- and second-round matches at Mem Gym this weekend.

The postseason invitation is the first for the UVA program since 1999, and the third in the program’s history.

UVA (21-10, 11-9 ACC) will have a first-round bye and will play the winner of Game 1 at 6 p.m. on Sunday. North Carolina A&T and St. John’s will face off in the first-round game at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

This is a nice step for UVA Volleyball, in its fourth year under head coach Shannon Wells, who just led the program to its first winning season since 2015.
