Virginia’s 2012 flue-cured tobacco production is expected to total 46.2 million pounds, up six percent from 2011. Acres harvested are estimated at 21,000 acres, up 1,500 acres from last year. The yield forecast at 2,200 pounds to the acre is down 30 pounds from last year.
