Virginia Tourism Corporation comes to Harrisonburg for ‘Your Personal Help Desk’

Harrisonburg Tourism & Visitor Services has coordinated a two-day event with Virginia Tourism Corporation. “Your Personal Help Desk” will take place March 28-29, 2012 at the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center.

Staff from Virginia Tourism Corporation will conduct personalized sessions with local tourism-based businesses. These private, one-hour sessions will give business owners and operators the opportunity to discuss the following: marketing leverage grants, public relations, message branding, target marketing, promotions, the Virginia Film Industry, customer service, social media, & use of the state tourism site – www.virginia.org. Twenty-seven businesses in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County have signed up to participate.

“Your Personal Help Desk” will serve as our official kick-off to the tourism season. These sessions will energize our businesses and offer a refresher course on how to provide memorable experiences, says Emily DeBenedetto”.

Those businesses that did not sign up for this event are invited to call Harrisonburg Tourism & Visitor Services for more information regarding the services provided by the local and state tourism offices.
