The Halifax County High School traffic safety club is the statewide high school division winner of the 2024 Jingle Your Way to a Safe Holiday Jingle Contest.

Vikram Goudar, a 10th-grade student at Cape Henry Collegiate in Virginia Beach, won second, and Liliana Scott, a ninth-grade student at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, won third.

JC McGee, a seventh-grade student at Quioccasin Middle School in Henrico County, is the statewide middle school division winner of the contest.

Cave Spring Middle School’s Squires’ AIDE in Roanoke County won second, and William Byrd Middle School’s Terrier Safety Squad in Roanoke County won third.

“Congratulations to all the jingle contest winners and a special thanks to each student and club that took the time to create a safety jingle,” said Mary King, program manager at Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety, which sponsored the contest with the Virginia State Police, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and State Farm.

“We were very impressed with all the jingles and can’t wait for everyone to view and share them on social media. What a fun way for teens to encourage each other to buckle up and drive safe,” King said.

Halifax County High School’s jingle will be edited and produced to air statewide on audio platforms such as Pandora, iHeartRadio, SiriusXM and Spotify during the month of December.
