A Virginia man died after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night on Route 39 in Bath County.

Keswick Forrest Phillips, 51, of Warm Springs, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at 9:25 p.m., two miles east of Route 600.

Phillips ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, VSP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
