Virginia State Police: Motorcycle crash kills one in Pittsylvania County

A Virginia man is dead following a motorcycle crash on Sunday evening in Pittsylvania County.

Stephen Lee Wingate, 52, of Ringgold, was transported to SOVAH Health in Danville where he later died, according to Virginia State Police.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 5:25 p.m. on Route 759, six tenths of a mile south of Route 62.

His 2002 Harley Davidson was traveling south on Route 759, when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

The crash remains under investigation.
