Virginia State Police investigating Afton police shooting

policecar3Virginia State Police are assisting the Albemarle County Police Department with investigating a fatal police shooting in the early morning hours of Saturday (June 8, 2013). The Albemarle County Police responded to a  911 call for a domestic situation at a residence on Rock Fish Gap Turnpike in Afton.

At the request of the Albemarle Police Department, the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s “Police Shooting Investigative Team” from the Appomattox Field Office is conducting the investigation into the incident.
