Virginia Organizing: Affordable Care Act lives on

Sandra A. Cook, Chairperson for Virginia Organizing, released the following statement today regarding the government shutdown.

“The anti-health care reform obstructionists in Congress have truly crossed the line. Shutting down the government does not stop the Affordable Care Act from going into effect, but it does hurt working Virginians, many of whom are employed by the government. This is a temper tantrum by a group of lawmakers who are holding our economy hostage so their will can be done, contrary to the will of the American people.”
