Virginia Beach: Cyclist dies from injuries in Oct. 13 crash on Arctic Avenue

A cyclist is dead following a crash on Artic Avenue in Virginia Beach.

Matthew Hurley, 37, of Virginia Beach, died on Oct. 16. The crash occurred on Oct. 13 at 9:54 p.m. at the intersection of 30th Street and Arctic Avenue.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Hurley, traveling west on 30th Street, entered the intersection against a red traffic signal and collided with a vehicle traveling north on Arctic Ave.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with emergency personnel, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.

The incident remains under investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed.
